CAFFE NERO GROUP PLC Re: Goes for some Retail Therapy
Caffe Nero Group plc, the leading independent UK coffee house operator which has recently been voted the top rated brand by consumers for the fifth consecutive year, announces it has signed new partnerships with House of Fraser, Blackwell’s Bookshops and the British Museum.
Caffe Nero Group plc (“Caffe Nero” or “the Group”) today announces that it has increased its retail joint ventures in a number of different locations, building on the Group’s success to date in retail and airport locations.
House of Fraser
Caffe Nero has entered into a partnership agreement with House of Fraser, the UK’s leading retailer of designer brands, to operate Caffe Nero stores in a further five House of Fraser stores. This follows Caffe Nero’s success at Dickins and Jones in London’s Regent Street.
The first of these recently opened in House of Fraser in Guildford. Situated on the first floor of House of Fraser with approximately 1200 sq. ft of trading space.
Further Caffe Nero units are opening in House of Fraser stores in Victoria London, Maidstone, Glasgow and Croydon throughout August, September and October.
Blackwell’s Bookshops
In addition, the Group has entered into a partnership agreement with Blackwell’s, the UK’s leading academic and professional bookseller, to operate four Caffe Nero retail units within Blackwell’s bookshops, including its flagship operation in Broad Street, Oxford, as well as its Bristol, Cambridge and Edinburgh stores. The new Caffe Nero stores are due to commence trading in September. British Museum
The Group is also currently running a brand initiative in partnership with the British Museum to promote its virtual Egyptian “Mummy” exhibition. Under the terms of the joint venture promotion, Caffe Nero features artwork from the exhibition on the takeaway cups which it retails at its 70 stores within the M25. In addition, a new fruit booster drink has been added to the Caffe Nero menu called “the cool mummy” for the duration of the promotion. The promotion will run from early August to the end of September. This follows the Group’s successful partnership promotion of the Tate’s “Turner in Venice” exhibition last year. The Group is keen to enter into further partnership promotions and link the Caffe Nero brand with quality art and cultural events of this kind in order to support culture in the community where it operates and link its quality lifestyle brand with quality events.
Gerry Ford, Chairman of Caffe Nero Group plc, commented: “The success of the Caffe Nero format in such a wide variety of retail locations is firm proof of the versatility of our offering and provides added momentum to the Group’s current store expansion. Our brand clearly lends itself to joint ventures of this kind with eminent retailers and quality art and cultural events and we look forward to developing further opportunities in this context.”
