The colour palette we use is also crucial in helping to create a feeling of warmth and comfort with cosy corners and snug seating areas. We use a heritage range and use different palettes to suit individual cafes – these are selected by our interior designers on a store by store basis. Displayed on the walls in any Nero you will always see our large character rich, Italian lifestyle images. All the images are unique to Nero and taken by our photographers in real life situations of our family, friends, employees and people we have met along the way.
Our furniture is influenced and inspired by continental pieces but it is important to us to ensure that we provide our customers with home comforts. We try to have the right mix of soft and hard seating and in our larger cafes we have deep, soft leather sofas and armchairs available – for those long lazy afternoons of drinking, chatting and watching the world go by.
Stylish banquette seating has also recently been introduced and we’ve listened to our customers’ practical needs and added power sockets nearby too.
Plus we’ve made sure that in our UK stores there is always free water available and free newspapers to read and the Times newspaper can be bought in the majority too.
All of these elements we hope you’ll agree combine to create an authentic coffee house experience and a positive space to relax in. Although we want all our cafes to feel like part of the local neighbourhood we also hope that they all feel immediately and distinctly Nero too – somewhere familiar and a home from home!
