is there a limit to the Gift Card value?
Yes, £100 and the minimum value is £10. You can buy in £5 denominations online and in £10 denominations in store.
Can I buy more than one Gift Card at the same time?
Yes, you can buy up to three Gift Cards in one order online.
What happens if I want to buy more than three Gift Cards?
After you have bought your first order of three Gift Cards, you can go back in to the shop section and click on the ‘Gift Card’ button and go through the Gift Card purchase process again.
Can I also buy the Gift Card in your stores?
Yes, you can. You can also buy the Gift Card in any participating WH Smith and Clintons’ stores from £10 to £100.
Can I use the Gift Card in all stores?
Barring any technical fault, you can use the Gift Card in the vast majority of our stores; however Gift Cards aren’t available to purchase in our Nero Express kiosks and some concession stores (House of Fraser).
The non-participating stores are: Newcastle Fenwicks, Colchester Fenwicks , Bracknell Bentalls, Kingston Bentalls and Kings Cross Concourse Nero Express
What happens if I have a little bit of money left on my gift card, that’s not enough to buy something in store?
You can do one of two things: either top up your gift card, or buy a lovely coffee (or whatever you fancy) and pay part gift card and part cash/credit card so the total on your gift card ends up at zero.
Can I ‘top up’ my Gift Card once I have spent the initial value?
Yes, you can top up your card in store.
Can I check the balance on a Gift Card?
Yes, you can check your balance at www.showmybalance.com
Can I pay for a purchase with part Gift Card payment, and part cash / credit card payment in stores?
Yes, you can. Just mention that this is what you want to do at the point of payment.
What do I do if I’ve lost my Gift Card?
Unfortunately, the Gift Card is treated as cash; if you have lost your Gift Card there is very little we can do. However, if you have your original Gift Card receipt, which has the Gift Card number on, you can contact us
and we will see if we can help.
What happens if my Gift Card doesn’t work?
Unfortunately, as with Credit Cards there may be times when the Gift Card doesn’t work. Please contact us and we will look into why your Gift Card isn’t working.
Can I get a refund back onto my Gift Card?
Yes, our baristas can do this for you in store.
