Single Origin Coffee

Costa Rica

Nestled in the mountains of Costa Rica lies the renowned coffee-growing region of Tarrazú. Fresh from our roastery, this Single Origin brings out the best of this exceptional region, known for producing high-quality coffees under strict environmental standards.

Our Costa Rica Dota Tarrazú comes from the town of Santa María de Dota, home to Coope Dota, a coffee cooperative with a long history of supporting local growers and communities. It’s a place where coffee is deeply connected to the landscape, culture and way of life, proudly captured by the Costa Rican motto, “Pura Vida”.

Coffee from Tarrazú is shaped by the unique environment in which it is grown. The region's high-altitude landscapes and carefully managed growing conditions help create coffees with distinctive flavour and character.

Our Costa Rica Single Origin is shade grown and selectively hand-picked before being washed using natural fermentation. These careful processes help bring out the qualities of the coffee, from its bright acidity to its smooth body and delicate flavour notes.

What Is Single Origin?

Unlike a blend, where different varietal’s and beans from all over the world can be used, a single origin is one crop, a single farm or a region within a country.

The coffee seedlings are planted, grown and harvested by hand to yield a particular flavour, and lovingly cultivated up to maturation by farmers whose unparalleled knowledge means that we get to enjoy an exquisite cup of coffee from a world away.
