Ella Clayton - Artist of the Month

We first got to know Ella Clayton when she played on the Caffè Nero stage at a music festival in 2024. Since then she's appeared on our stage at Heathrow T2, and played a special gig at our HQ in Covent Garden. Her new album ‘Could It Be You?’ has just been released and we liked it so much we decided to make her our artist for May.

Ella is a singer-songwriter from London whose music blends poetic storytelling with a rich, emotive vocal style. Rooted in folk but shaped by modern influences, her sound draws comparisons to artists such as Laura Marling and Jeff Buckley while remaining distinctly her own.

She released her debut album Murmurations in 2022, establishing herself as a rising voice in the UK indie-folk scene, followed by the stripped-back acoustic EP Stairwell in 2023. Both releases received critical acclaim and her song “Only Bodies” featured in the BAFTA-winning film Sweetheart and Netflix’s Dead Man’s Phone.

A compelling live performer, Ella has headlined notable London venues and appeared at festivals including Latitude, Truck and Black Deer. She was longlisted for the Glastonbury Emerging Artist Competition, and personally selected by George Ezra to perform at Latitude Festival.

During May our Caffè Nero playlist will feature 6 tracks from Ella’s new album that will play every afternoon for fifteen minutes at 15.30 throughout the UK and beyond!
